Bytown Ukuleles began as a creative collaboration between two Ottawa-based artisans, who shared an enthusiasm for all things ukulele. Using traditional luthier techniques, Bytown Ukuleles began building unique, custom instruments using a variety of local, exotic and found woods. We designed and created instruments which explored the visual and sonic possibilities of the small but mighty ukulele.

"Bytown Ukuleles" along with "Fleur de Lyre Music" (a Canadian source for harp music, parts and accessories) is now operated by Mark Rogers under the name of "Bytown Instruments". Mark now spends his time fulfilling orders from the Bytown Instruments website for Mainland Ukes, Romero Creations, Magic Fluke as well as parts and accessories. He is also busy with instrument setup, maintenance and repair and when time permits, he occasionally gets some bench time to build some ukes and/or harps. Along with his wife Susan, Mark also organizes and runs the hugely successful Bytown Ukulele Group.
