Bitterroot Soundscape: for harp, oboe, and chamber ensemble
"Bitterroot Soundscape" expresses a bittersweet sound world in which the line between tension and resolution is blurred. It explores the sounds that exist without clear resolution or a sense of finality. While it is not overtly programmatic, without a dramatic story line or a depiction of a specific picture, it does intend to use the Bitterroot mountain range in Montana as a personal metaphor to convey in musical terms an aspect of the human experience. The ensemble requires an advanced technical level of playing on all instruments. Includes score and individual parts.
