Frank should have titled this one, “The Essence of Calm.” It is in E minor with only four lever changes (the same lever four times). This piece was inspired by a visit to a harpist friend’s retreat home located on the New River in Ashe County, NC. He wrote this piece while sitting on the back porch watching people in their canoes row leisurely down the river. This is a lovely, soothing, relaxing addition to any harpist’s repertoire. It is suitable for preludes, receptions, relaxation, bedside, and other occasions.
Pedals: one. / Lever Changes: four. / Difficulty: Intermediate.
For Lever and Pedal harps.
