The familiar hymn tune, Lobe Den Herren, has been jazzed up as only Frank Voltz can do it! The first verse is traditional with large, lush rolled chords in 3/4 time, but then it gets interesting. The second verse is tango / habanera style and exudes a Spanish flair in 4/4 time. The last verse is even more expressive than the previous verse. It has a Latin Salsa feel. This jazzy arrangement has the jazz chords and the rich sonorities that his arrangements are known for. Frank recorded this piece on “The Soul of the Harp” CD but just recently transcribed it. He has performed this piece in concert for years. This piece is perfect for any worship service. Don’t be afraid to wake them up in the pews!
